The Scheme near Colchester involved a major enabling development for the restoration of a Grade 1 Mansion. The substantial grounds gave the opportunity to create a new village quarter and buildings within the historic park. Shaw and Jagger have been involved in this evolving project for for ten years. Developing housing schemes for 300 houses, a visitors centre, a wedding venue with hall, accommodation, and spa.
The Housing scheme was designed as a new village with carefully planned street scenes and a hierarchy of housing typologies.
The Visitors Centre is designed as a contemporary Tythe Barn; with an Exhibition Centre, Cafe, Art and Crafts Studio’s. The Wedding venue is developed out of the existing medieval barns with additional accommodation buildings designed as eighteenth century stables
