Criterion Place
Developing mixed use schemes has been at the forefront of much of the design output of the Shaw and Jagger team. The nationally celebrated St Marks scheme in Lincoln provided 500,000 sq ft of retail, leisure and apartment space and was adopted as government design guidance for good practice in inner city schemes. City Walk in Leeds was equally ground breaking providing 300,000 sq of office space, 300 apartments and a 350 bed four star Hotel. This award winning scheme was won by design competition and has been a benchmark for design in Leeds. Our ethos has always to design sustainable attractive environments in which to live, play and work; a new town quarter with attractive facilities.
The Opportunity to design Criterion Place was afforded by The City Council on the success of City Walk. The proposed scheme was to create a pair of residential towers, supported on a platform offices and restaurants. The development would have provided 500 apartments, 300,000 sq ft of offices and 50,000 sq ft of mixed Leisure restaurants and Casino.
