Odeon Cinema, Lincoln
The Odeon Cinema, on the waterside of the Brayford Pool, in Lincoln was a major challenge. We had to build a two storey cinema on a tight sight in front of Lincoln Cathedral; one ( if not the greatest ) of the most important cathedrals in Europe. The scheme, 45,000 sq ft of Cinema; 9 screens and restaurants comprising ASK, Nando’s, Zizzi’s Wagamama, No.1 Bar, Ben & Jerry’s, Costas and The integration of The Royal William ( an eighteenth century public house with much earlier origins ) the scheme was presented to the Royal Fine Art Commission in order to secure planning approval. The Budget was approximately £13 Million and was crucial in the success of the Brayford regeneration project; now a thriving city quarter.
