Waha Offices

Waha Offices, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia

Shaw and Jagger were invited to submit proposals for a 150,000 sq ft suite of offices in Jeddah. The Client was keen to “create a sustainable development that would be a guiding light in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for a self sufficient future”.
The building was designed to be carbon neutral with photovoltaics and geothermal in order to provide cooling to the building. The building was deigned with cooling towers and atriums using the ancient technologies of the Middle East in order to cool the building down and ventilate it naturally. A mechanical, sun sensitive system of bris soleils formed part of the architecture of the building and provided sun screening reducing heat gain and glare.
